ABOUT

Design is not an isolated discipline.
It is part of the business of creating places

I work at the intersection of design, development and strategy, helping owners, developers and operators translate ambition into places that are distinctive, commercially relevant and capable of being delivered.

My experience spans architecture, hospitality, real estate, mixed-use development and airport cities, working both within development organisations and alongside some of the world’s leading architects, designers and hotel operators.

My role is rarely to replace the designer. It is to ask the right questions, establish a clear brief, assemble and guide the appropriate teams, and maintain the clarity of the original idea as a project moves from concept towards reality.

BACKGROUND

Four decades across design and development

I have spent more than four decades working across architecture, hospitality, real estate and large-scale development — first as an architect and designer, and increasingly at the intersection of design and development.

My career has taken me from working within hotel and development organisations to advising owners and developers, and collaborating with leading architects, designers and hotel operators on projects in India and internationally.

That experience has given me a perspective that crosses disciplines. I tend to look at a project not simply as a design problem, but as a combination of place, experience, business and operations — and ultimately, the ability to get a good idea built.

HOW I WORK

Between design ambition and development reality

Good projects depend on more than good design. They depend on asking the right questions early, defining the right brief, assembling the right team and protecting the essential idea through the realities of development and delivery.

My role is to work across those boundaries — between owner, operator, architect, designer and development team — helping each understand what matters, what can change and what should not.

Define the problem · Shape the brief · Build the team · Protect the idea
